Usher Raymond IV, conocido profesionalmente como Usher, es un cantante, compositor de canciones, y actor estadounidense nacido en Dallas, Texas, el 14 de octubre de 1978.

Criado en Atlanta, Georgia, y Chattanooga, Tennessee, Usher soñaba con ser jugador de baloncesto o rugby antes de descubrir su pasión por la música, la misma que le hizo firmar su primer contrato discográfico cuando apenas contaba con 13 años de edad.

En agosto de 1994 debutó en el mundo de la música con Usher, su álbum de debut, producido por Sean Combs, más conocido como Puff Daddy. Colocó el disco en el top 25 de álbumes R&B, en parte gracias a sencillos como "Can U Get Wit It," "Think Of You," y "The Many Ways".

Pero el éxito masivo no le llegó hasta el año 1997, con la publicación de su segundo álbum, My Way, producido por el mismísimo Babyface. Se vendieron más de 7 millones de copias del disco, y singles como "You Make Me Wanna" o "Nice & Slow" catapultaron a Usher a nivel internacional. La primera canción fue nominada al Grammy como mejor interpretación vocal masculina. Había nacido una estrella de la música.

En 1999 grabó Live, una recopilación de canciones y versiones que el artista fue grabando a lo largo de su gira internacional de ese mismo año.

El 7 de agosto de 2001, Usher sacó a la venta su tercer disco, 8701. El álbum esta producido por productores del renombre de Jermaine Dupri, P. Diddy o The Neptunes, y llegó a ser 4 veces platino, además de colocarle en lo más alto de las listas, cosechar dos Grammy (por "U Remind Me" y "U Don't Have To Call"), dos Premios Soul Train (por "U Remind Me" de nuevo), tres premios Billboard, y otros galardones internacionales de menor nivel. El disco vendió alrededor de 8 millones de copias.

Ya en 2004, Usher editó el, hasta el momento, disco más éxitoso de los que ha sacado a la calle. Confessions se convirtió en 9 veces platino y vendió 16 millones de copias. El primer single fue "Yeah!", en colaboración con Lil Jon y Ludacris, y estuvo en el primer lugar del Billboard Hot 100 por 6 semanas, mientras que en Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles estuvo 5. Otros singles que llegaron a ser también números 1 fueron "Burn", "Confessions Part. II" y "My Boo", junto a Alicia Keys. Más adelante, "Caught Up" y "Throwback" serían los siguientes sencillos que sacaría Usher, sin tener la misma relevancia que los anteriores aunque consiguiendo cierto éxito, en especial "Caught Up", del que se haría un remix junto a Fabolous. Gracias a Confessions, el artista ganaría 3 Grammys de 11 nominaciones.

En 2005, colaboraría en el "Lovers & Friends" de Lil Jon, al igual que Ludacris.

2008 : Here I Stand Lanzamiento Mundial Mayo 27 2008, Primer sencillo del Album es la canción "Love in This Club" con Young Jeezy,la cancion alcanzo la posicion numero 1 en la billboard por tres semanas consecutivas, el video se estrenó este 7 de abril en MTV, VH1 y BET. El álbum estaba previsto salir a la venta en Junio, pero debido a la gran demanda de los fans, se ha adelantado para mayo 27. el segundo single lanzado fue "Love in this Club II", que conto con la participacion de Beyonce y Lil' Wayne, por el momento su mas reciente video y single es "Moving Mountains".
