That every sinner can afford.
Unless you're livin' as a Christian
You don't know the joy you're missin'
And you'll wonder how you could ever be bored.
It's true as can be,
Because it's happenin' to me.
I'm gonna tell my story to you,
'Cause I know that when I'm through
You're surely bound to see it the way I see.
'Cause sometimes, when I kneel to pray,
And let the Spirit have His way...

When I'm connected to
The Spirit Heavenly Father's sure to hear it,

It's hard to contain a joy
That words just can't explain.
Unless they know the reason
For it all your friends will just ignore it,
For it seems you're going a little insane.
But don't you forget
He isn't finished with you yet.
We have the Spirit now to teach us,
For He said He's always keep us all,
And that's a promise on which you can bet!
For He's renewing your mind,
And when you praise Him you will find...

I get to dancin' when
The Spirit starts movin' my feet.
I can't help singin' when we're swingin'
With the angels to the heavenly beat! (Well, well)
And then the neighbors pull their shutters down
And start to ring me on the line.
I say, "I'll beg your pardon, please
If I'm disturbin' the peace,
But then the fault's not really mine!"
It's just that...

Well, it was just the other morning,
While I was prayin' I was praisin' the Lord,
Thankin' Him for everything
That He's done and all that He means to me.
I got to thinkin' really deep
And it occurred to me
That I really wanted was more of Him
Just to be closer ... no sir,
I couldn't sit there anymore!
You know I had to get up
On the roof of the house,
Raisin' my hands and shoutin'
"Lord, take me higher! Higher! Higher!"
I guess the neighbors must have
Misunderstood my intentions --
You could say I got carried away --
'Cause they thought I was shouting "Fire!"
Like the house was burning down
And I was about to be D.O.A. (what a laugh!).
They called a hook-and-ladder truck,
A policeman and the ambulance too!
And everybody's running around on the lawn
But nobody knows what to do!
And all this time I'm standin' there on the roof
Of the house with my hands in the air
Havin' a wonderful time with the Lord.
(I told you Christians rarely get bored!)
But before too long they figured out
There's no spark or flame to be worried about,
And then they all got pretty steamed,
Thinkin' it was a joke that I screamed.
And as they're about to do their worst to me,
I saw a golden opportunity,
And form my high and lofty perch ...
I preached a sermon like it was church!
And when I was finished they forgave me
For the crazy way that I raved;
Now I know that all things work for good,
'Cause they all ended up gettin' saved!
